none were with him

Shawnie bore her testimony in church today. This was a little bit challenging as her Dynavox blew up last week! I got to be the interpreter. This was what she shared: " I like to bear my testimony. I know that Heavenly Father lives and that He takes care of me. " At this point I was crying as was half of the congregation, so she got worried and ended with a quick "I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, amen." On the way back to our seat, she said, "Mom, why are you crying?" I told her that some crying was good, and this was definitely good.

Poor Sari woke up so sick this morning. She had to miss church and wearing her brand new Easter dress. :o) It didn't stop her from eating chocolate all day, though...

This conference talk was so beautiful and motivating to me! It was definitely what I needed just about now. I'm so thankful for my Savior and the sacrifices that He made and the hard things that He suffered through so that we could live forever with Him and our Heavenly Father. I want to be stronger! And in my whining moments I always want to remember that it was never meant to be easy, that life is hard for everyone, and no one will ever have it as bad as our Savior, Jesus Christ had it. At least we have Him and each other to help us along. He made it and we can too.

Happy Easter All!

Last month at the temple, at a particularly bad point in the month, I had this overwhelming feeling that I was so selfish to think that I shouldn't be going through the trials I'm going through. Our Savior went through so much more - and he did it for me. The atonement has become so much more personal to me through this trial. One of the main reasons for it I am sure.
I'm so glad to hear your testimony Shawnie!
Hope you're feeling better Sari!

I guess I will add my amen to Melinda's comment. One day I was thinking about what Joseph Smith and really what Emma went through as his wife and I was thinking about why things in my life were the way they were (you know, "Why me?" I do everything I can to live the gospel why do I have such and such) and it just came to me, "Why not me?" Every one else has gone through it why do I think I should get a big exemption stamp on my forehead?

Wish I could have been there to hear Shawnie's testimoney... and to eat with Sari.
