sari + bobbi pins = ?

ok, I have to add a funny after all that depression. I really don't think we could survive without our sweet Sari. She keeps us laughing these days like I can't even explain. The other day, she was telling me about how they were making a video at school about being kind (she is a 'young ambassador' chosen by teachers to be a leader and role model for the school, yes, I am so proud...) and it was her job to trip as she was going up the stairs and drop her binder and spill all of her stuff so that kids could run up and help her. She did it beautifully and it went without a hitch, until she got up and started up the stairs with the helpers and tripped and fell again, this time on accident, thus requiring them to shoot the scene all over again! I laughed all day, thinking what a funny gal she is.

She also has been getting really good at fixing her hair in fun styles and has been trying lots of new and different "do's". One that she has been so anxious to try was wrapping it up and pinning it with bobby pins at night to make curls in the morning. I bought her a gazillion bobbi pins and one night she spent forever pinning it up. The next morning, she undid it and this is what she found:




needless to say, she washed her hair before she went anywhere, but we sure got a good laugh out of it. Thanks for helping us keep smiling, Sari, I love you.

Sari-isms

Another funny Sari story to remember...
Friday night she was babysitting Shawnie for me while I was at a Relief Society thing. Shawnie wanted tomato soup for dinner so I left a can sitting on the counter before I left. I had to make taco soup to take, so there were left over cans from that sitting on the other counter. I stopped at home a while later to check on them and Sari was stirring the soup on the stove. I asked her why they hadn't eaten yet and she said this was her third try! I thought, "Tomato soup? Third try?" She explained that she'd used the can of tomato SAUCE mixed with a can of water for the first try. The second try was a can of tomato sauce with a can of milk, which she fed to Shawnie. She then noticed the can of tomato SOUP sitting on the counter and realized what she had done. By the time she had finished cooking the soup, Shawnie was all filled up on tomato sauce! We had a good laugh, and Shawnie told her she liked the sauce-soup better than the regular stuff. I think this may be a new family secret...

Sari-isms

We were laughing the other day about the funny things that Sari has said over the years as she has learned to use words beyond her age. Last year she had to go to the foot doctor to have her toenail fixed. While we were there, I was talking to the doctor about Keith having the same problem with his toes. When we got home, she told Keith, "Dad, the doctor and mom were conceiving against you!"

Another more recent funny, we were eating lunch at Craigo's with mom and dad. (YUM!) Sari had like one piece of pizza and then tried every single kind of dessert pizza they offered. She came back with a piece that she said was really tasty, it was chocolate from "Ghandi, you know, that country in Africa." Mom and I were at the buffet a few minutes later and found that the chocolate she was referring to was none other than Ghiradelli. We got a great laugh out of that one.

I love you Sari. Thanks for the joy you add to our family, we'd be awfully boring without you.
